Regular patrols are undertaken by CPF (Community Policing Forum) members, during the day & night, sacrificing their time & resources to deter crime in our area.
Residents are posting their observations of suspicious vehicles & individuals in the area & the CPF, sometimes assisted by Alpha Alarms, always tries to follow up & respond timeously. The team also raids criminal hideouts & are trying to permanently close up escape routes used by thieves at night.
Despite our best efforts, vehicles are still being stolen & hijacked; tyres are stolen from cars at night & many other forms of crime are still rife in our community.
We are constantly planning & strategizing & are considering contracting a security company to provide increased patrols in the area. This will only be possible if we have the support of the community & we call upon every household to regularly contribute towards this initiative.
Besides monthly hamper distribution to more than 35 families, members of our community are assisted with other forms of welfare assistance on a continuous basis. Our welfare team is regularly contacted for relief & support & we try our best to assist in any way possible.
• Daily bread distribution
• Sourcing goods for the monthly hamper distribution
• Assistance with gas stoves for the needy
• Facilitating collection and distribution of items for vulnerable families
• Water distribution during interruption in Municipal supply
• Other social welfare assistance to the elderly
• Attempts are being made to facilitate the construction of a borehole at IBIS for the benefit of the school and residents
• Assistance with Oxygen Concentrators and Oximeters
• Business empowerment support
• Donation of meals to Isipingo CPF Sub Forum events
• Water distribution to affected families
The maintenance team is active in the area, remove obstacles from the road & pathways, monitoring illegal dumping, clearing overgrown bushes, reporting & following up municipal issues, liasing with contractors working in the area & responding to various other issues raised by residents on the groups.
